There are a great number of attractions in the area, from local river cruises and fishing trips to exploring the ancient temples or visiting the spice plantations. Savour the lively atmosphere of Vibrant Margao, the Capital of South Goa or hunt for bargains in the colourful local markets.
The beaches:A few minutes walk from the resort is Cavelossim beach, renowned as one of the most outstanding in GOA. Take a leisurely stroll along the unspoiled sun kissed golden sands. Feeling thirsty? Call in at one of the many beach bars along the way, offering ice-cold drinks and mouth watering food. The ideal location to relax, sunbathe and swin, with water sports available if you're feeling more energetic. At dusk, witness the breathtaking beauty of a spectacular Goan sunset.
There are many superb beaches in the area for you to visit. Southern beaches include Mobor, Bogmalo, Utorda, Majorda, Colva and Benaulim - all with glistening white sand and calm sea. A short taxi ride away, you can enjoy the superb 'paradise beach' at Palolem. A stunning location nestling in a tiny bay with idylic stilted beach huts on the sand where you can spend a night or two watching the mesmerising sunsets and fall asleep to the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore.
Festivals:A legacy of Goa's chequered history are the Christian, Hindu and Islamic celebrations held throughout the year. The lively, fun loving nature of the local people is reflected in the many colourful processions that take place. Christmas in Goa is very special and there numerous Feast days celebrating the patron saints of local villages. The annual Carnival takes place in February/March with four days of processions, floats, singing and dancing in Margao, Panjim, Vasco and Mapusa. A local version of the Festival of Holi is the 'Shigmotsav', celebrated for one week, with fantastic floats based on mythology paraded in all the major towns. Diwali is a further cause for celebration when people decorate their homes and the streets with colourful streamers and thousands of fairy lights. With so many festivals, the prevailing atmosphere of Goa is always one of fun and excitment, and the locals are very happy to share their hospitality and celebrate with you. Activities and facilities near-by:Fancy a round of golf? There's a 9-hole golf course just down the road and it's very competitively priced. Or perhaps you'd rather try your hand at clay pigeon shooting. If you're keen on water sports, scuba diving, wind surfing, para-sailing and jet skis are all available. In addition to the many shops, bars and restaurants, there's a Casino if you want to try your luck. There's also an air-conditioned bowling alley a few minutes drive from the resort.
